From North (M5)

SAT NAV users please see note below
Leave M5 at exit 25 (Taunton) and follow A358 to Ilminster and join the A303 (east - London). At Cartgate roundabout (after signs for Martock & Stoke) turn right along A3088 towards Yeovil. After about 4 miles turn left at first roundabout, then go straight on at the next 3 roundabouts and straight up Western Avenue.

At the T-junction turn left, then next right (about 100 yds) down into the village of Thorne. Just before the gate that blocks the road, take the last drive on the right side. Come to the top of the drive where there is safe private parking.

From East (A303)
Leave M3 at exit 8 (Popham) and join A303. At Ilchester join A37 (south) towards Yeovil. After approx. 4 miles (coming up a hill) turn right at roundabout, sign posted Thorne. Continue along this road, over a double mini-roundabout onto Thorne Lane

Continue over a second mini-roundabout then turn next right down into the village of Thorne. Just before the gate that blocks the road, take the last drive on the right hand side.

From South (A37)
Take the A37 from Dorchester. Enter Yeovil & join A30 at mini-roundabout (opposite ‘Quicksilver Mail’ Pub). Turn left and continue along West Coker Road (A30) to the next roundabout, take second exit and go down the hill. At next roundabout take first exit (left) and then go straight on at the next four roundabouts and go straight up Western Avenue.

At the T-junction turn left, and then right down into the village of Thorne.

Drive through the hamlet until you see a gate directly in front of you that blocks the road and take the drive on the right hand side. Our car park is at the top of this drive

For those of you with SatNav in your cars please type in our postcode - BA21 3PZ - PLUS "via Thorne Lane". Our hamlet is divided in two by a closed gate which blocks the road. Sat navs appear not to detect this and send you the wrong side of the gate. The "via" should avoid this.

Thorne Village approaching from Yeovil
Driveway at Thorne Cottage Guest House

Please note: Access to Thorne from the north (via Chilthorne Domer) is restricted by a gate, so the best way to approach is from the southern end of the village via Thorne Lane.

Take care particularly in the dark not to miss the "Thorne" sign post off Thorne Lane. This can be difficult to see and also can be partly obscured by trees. Please telephone at any time if in doubt.
